only problem is you still need all the seals which are like another 200$easily (i know its more but i'll leave it at that), still need latches too (100 for all 4) and then you need a back window which is 500$ for glass or 200+shipping if you get the mazda comp discount.
850+200+100+500=1650 actual price
850+200+100+~250=~1400 actual price with mazdacomp discount
the lexan he says you can get at lowes and home depot isn't large enough for a back window. it falls about a foot short on each side because of the curve in the top.

At $850, Chaser can get you the Carbon Fiber HT with all seals and window for $1200. You loose about 20lbs.......plus for this run only you get to choose between Kevlar I pattern, Kevlar 2x2, Carbon Fiber 2x2, Blue Carbon, Red Carbon, Green Carbon and Silver Carbon.
Sounds like a damn good deal to me. That is why I have my deposit down

And its not 100% farbon ciber..
I'd rather have SPEC side latches on a Hard top anyway... Ask Hustler why (Sorry man!!!! :( Shitty story..)
Admittedly it'd be kinda cool, but the seller is WAY overstating the back window as so "easy." *shrug*

well still is the extra 500 bucks worth loosing 20 lbs? And plus for that 1200 your not getting oem fitment because alot of those tops still need finishing work, plus having a lexan rear window on a oem top would shave some weight there too so it' not the best option in the world like I said mainly for the people with cash to blow.. or people who really need to loose that extra few lbs.

1000? when I was in the market not too long ago you could pick up a nice one for 800. Either way ir doesn't matter this thread is to help those who want to purchase one..... But 1 last point
For that kind of money you can make your car more than fast enough to make up for a claimed 20lb weight reduction!

My car came with a hard top. I figure I can sell the stock one and get this bad boy on there for minimal investment. Any older top would benefit from new seals anyway. This is win win as far as I'm concerned. Better sealing than I have now, carbon look, carbon/lexan weight, and spec latches are something I probably should have done in the first place.
All these miata owners complaining about a couple hours worth of hot rodding leaves me scratching my head. I thought we were the guys scraping together subaru turbos, saab intercoolers, and home made efi?

If you guys are going to spend this kind of coin on a hardtop(or any hardtop for that matter)I suggest you invest in these badboys.

seals off an old top, leave back window out, $30 spec latches, track day top only. and it's not just 20lbs. it WHERE the 20lbs. are coming from that makes a difference, especially handling. ever heard of an evo mr? that car only lost 8lbs. from it's roof and it made a difference. on our little cars 20lbs from the roof should make a noticeable difference, especially in transitional manuevers. i'm tyring to come up with the cash as we speak.
