lol he mad Should have ordered a shanghai kit with a 2554 equivalent from begi, and an MS from Rev or Brain.. would have been boosting already. |

Should read the thread so you don't make improper suggestions.

If you knew anything you'd know that a 2554 spools at 2k rpm. |
You want a smooth power curve instead of a wall of torque...
|
Lol,
So much fail in here, every which way. OP you are talking with inexperience, but as though you know what you are talking about. Dann |
Actually, what I'm talk with is a few people who(like most on the internet) think that because they have a boosted vehicle that can accelerate quickly in a straight line that it somehow translate to fast track times.
I'd be willing to bet that the biggest talkers have never seen a track, muchless have a clue what it takes to actually BE fast. Furthermore, their superior cobbled-together set-ups wouldn't last 3 laps. I will be running Thunder Hill with the Porsche event on the 13th and 14th and I would encourage you to come on out. Bring you car and teach me how to drive.:bigtu: |
I sure hope your driving is better than your grammar skills.
|
We're not really gonna start the "rotrex at x power is faster than a turbo at x power" bullshit are we?
|
|
So...ummm wow. Can't believe this thread is still alive.

That's right, Joe.. "words". Come represent the site and show me how it's done. We'll let video do the talking. |
OP, why aren't you building an N/A car for your wife to drive instead of putting a supercharger on it?

Apparently, the OP is too good of a driver to be able to use a 140+ whp N/A track car... |
Here, let me cut/paste for you from post #47 that answered your question directly:
Excellent point. I suppose I should be more clear. We share the car, so I needed to add some power for me and not frighten her. I felt that while the Rotrex is not exactly what I want in terms of gains, it would be a decent compromise. My wife doesn't drive in the upper RPM range so the car(for the most part) will act largely stock with little to no torque wall she has to contend with. Any amount of power I can add for me will be much appreciated. There are other less important reasons as well- Bullet-proof. We live in California, so R&R will be fairly painless for smog. Good suggestion. Thanks. As for me being too good of a driver for a stock Miata- Nobody is too good of a driver, there's always room for improvement. To boil down a long story: When we AX I have a couple of guys that I compete with for FTD, one is a 550HP AWD 911TT and the other is a completely hooked-up E46 M3 and both are on slicks. I am running RS-3's when I AX and they both told me I would never beat them consistently without slicks. I am looking to place seconds between us and I'm going to do it without slicks. Then I will add slicks to the equation. |

Like I was telling you in person though, I don't see why you can't fabricate an fmic yourself and just get the unit from said vendor.
Ebay cores are like 50-150. Ebay charge piping kits are like 100-200. An evening cutting and clamping and you're set to go. |
I am guessing they won't ship until the order is complete. Probably in order to avoid it coming back to bite them in the ass if he tries to claim they sent him an incomplete kit.
