LC-1 Problems

There seems to be a rash of LC-1 problems out there. Who is having them and what are they?

Saml01 02-24-2008 01:08 PM

I had LC1 problems, but after solving all my issues I have been problem free ever since. Its definitely a finicky piece of equipment but when it works, it works.

where is the "who has had absolutely no problems with AEM UEGO" poll?

I ran 3 new ground wires from the intake manifold to the cabin. One was for the sensor ground, one for the heater ground, and the other is a spare. I followed the instructions on how to calibrate and set it up, and so far it's trouble free.

Bought it over two years ago from diy, installed it and never had any problems. Recalibrated once.

still waiting on mine :)
should be here next week :x:

all the problems I keep reading about seem to be user related, and can be broken down as
-wiring error
-programming error
-sensor overheat

Currently working another post on this issue.
Biggest problem is that Megatune consistently shows AFR being 2 full points lower than Logworks.

akaryrye 02-24-2008 03:01 PM

my LC1 is consistant between Logworks and Megatune, but the analouge gauge is typically reading a half point more rich.

I know that there were occasional issues with the older units (came with less wires 5 instead of 6 or something like that), but it was a known issue and Innovate replaced them free of charge. FWIW, I had an older unit that died and they sent out a new unit the next day with the caveat that I shipped the old one back for them to test to make sure it was not user error. They found that there was a problem with the logic board or something like that.

Since then I have had no issues and have a second LC-1 waiting to go into the other miata on the shelf.

My lc1 controller just died a little while ago, and because of "cosmetic" issues I don't think they will be replacing it for me. So I bought an AEM from nester yesterday. I haven't heard of a single issue with them yet personally.

No analogue gauge for me, but my results are identical between logworks and Megatune. Was well worth my $180.00. :)

You can post that one.

i am having a minor issue with mine. it will occasionally lose it's calibration....causing me to run a free air calibration every so often. i don't believe that there is a wiring problem and it shouldn't be overheating since it's 3 ft from the turbo. when it is working correctly it seems to be spot on. :dunno:

Stealth97 02-24-2008 05:34 PM

I have a huge problem with mine. I cant get off my butt to install it... and sitting in the box it doesn't do a damn thing
