Default oil filter threaded pipe
so when stripping the block down for rebuild do you remove the threaded pipe that sticks out of the side of the engine that the oil filter and cooler attach? Couldn't find anything in the shop manual.

The dude at the machine shop told me he'd take it off so the block would get clean. I didn't have a socket that fit the nut.

I got the nut off and the oil cooler but not the pipe. Nut was the same size as rear axle nut.

If it's just the pipe, the cleaning agent can get in there really easily.
