I've known a few Exedy clutches to fail prematurely. My freinds at CoolCatRacing know all about that because they have replaced a couple and was only used for Street with some AutoX

^^To both the replies above.
Exedy failed in under a year with no abnormal driving conditions. Started slipping, got to a point where i couldn't go into boost within a month. Got to taking things apart and turns out that the flywheel warped. So i have a fidanza flywheel that warped down in less then a year. (still sittining in the closet with a new fiction surface if anyone wants to make an offer). CCR is where i got the clutch and flywheel in the 1st place. So i dunno if the material that Exedy uses gets particularly hot or what. Now im back to a stock flywheel (yuck) and ACT 4-puck clutch. Sorry for the thread jack! |
I did that at MSR on their "G-pad".

Holy crap! We've put over 70k of abuse on an Exedy and it still holds 160rwhp!
I lost count of the 7000rpm clutch dumps, both N/A and S/C! |
