I am rebuilding my engine with everything new, when unpacking my set of ACL Race main bearings I find these scratches on the shell that goes on the side of the block (shown below), the ones on the other side look perfect, this is normal for those bearings ?
They were measured to rectify the crankshaft and in the machine shop they left them assembled together with the crankshaft for delivery, I received it a few weeks ago and today when it was disassembled to start the construction I saw that and it seemed strange to me, I don't know if they are marked like that ( the ones below) from the factory or the crankshaft when they rotated it for delivery it did and it is normal, it worries me because I don't know whether to leave it or buy others
Small scratches are ok, especially on new bearings. There's a coating on them that gets wiped off fairly quickly. If they're not deep enough to catch a finger nail on, I wouldn't be worried. Machine shops can be dirty places, so make sure you clean everything extremely well before assembling with lube.
I got similar scratching on mine when I was using T gauges to measure clearances. Some of those seem a bit more scratched than what I saw, but I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.
