Is the 6 speed used in the mazdaspeed miata any different from the one that is used in other miatas?

From everything I've seen, its the same gearing as the other 6spds. It has shotpeened gears though (stronger).

Yeah i look at the wikipedia article earlier and it said soemthing along the lines of increaseing strenctgh by 0-1000%, so i thought that was pretty damn vague. I didn't know if anyone had any experience with them and holding more power. I got a pretty sweet deal on it for only $400.

Actually, they are terrible, I'd be more than happy tp take it off your hands though, just let me know, me the friendly neighborhood recycler, I will destroy that tranny for you for free, heck, I'll even give you back the $400 you paid for it, since you got so ripped off and i now feel bad for you. I'll even pay the shipping. Just let me know, and I'll take it.

The shotpeening means it'll probably take 500-600whp, instead of "only" 400.

Oh good because if 400 may break it, then i don't want to have that limiting me lol. What do these normally go for?

Are you positive that all six speeds were not shotpeened?

Only MSM's got the shotpeening and thicker axles.

They can go well over $7-800 easily.

That's because you are a hustler, you probably gave them fake money for it anyway.

werdlyphe. Caviar and Cris...baller on a budget.

fake money = I need to get money printed with my face on it, or at least paint my visa like a black amex...oh **** that would be awesome..lol. Considering how retarded I am on this board, I bet people are pretty surprised when we set up a transaction and it actually goes through.
