Maybe I'm just too optimistic...

According to the FM221 spec sheet theirs does control the FP. I have read a few things online saying the ME221 should control it, possibly a jumper inside.

IIRC one of the wires/diodes I soldered on the earlier boards in Colorado was to address this.
While I have no idea what the current FM221 board does, I do know there were many updates/etc. that we made to the ME221 boards over the development period.

My guess is that the OP has one of the earlier ME221 boards, which doesn't quite match the current/documented specs.
I believe there were two or three diodes/jumper wires that were needed, and that was over six months ago.

If your ECU cant activate a fuel pump, it shouldn't be installed in your car. I remember these guys could barely wrap their heads around the DIYPNP and then they go and developed this gem. I honestly feel bad for ME221 and FM221 users.

It can indeed drive the Fuel Pump as documented in the manual - the 1995 is X-over year to the 1.8, so before that the AFM did the hard work - simply linking one wire to a spare low side driver of the ECU will give full FP control like all the other PnP ranges...

Its a shame all of the UK tuners and now the biggest in the US all use an ME221 based ECU as opposed to a megasquirt based one - the argument of wrapped your head around DIYPNP is exactly its faults - people want an ECU that works, not one that requires a software engineering degree to get running - thats probably why MS fails, well that and its terrible engineering - if you're going to make the code opensource at least *try* to code it to a relatively decent standard.... thats why I feel sorry for all the MS users....
