Who says a miata cant drag race? There have been plenty of pretty quick miata's out there. Its like saying a honda civic is only good for picking up food at the market becuase thats what most people round here use them for. Or saying a mustang isnt good for autoX becuase most people drag race them.
RWD+light+turbo friendly= not an ok drag car? I know the maita isnt perfect for drag racing but heck that doesnt mean its horrible at it.

 

I didnt say that the miat cant be a good drag car. I meant it would be alot cheaper and easier to pick a different car to drag race with. Most any thing you find for the miata is going to be for handling.

 

Well FM and other large miata sellers offer turbo kits. Cmon guys miatas can be fast too right? :gay:

 

miatas are very fast but we like to make our cars turn at the end of the straight our difs and trannys are relativly weak for the rigor of extreme drag racing. with a 6 speed or TII driveline they make an excelent drag car with a good driver.the short wheel base doesn't help us alot on wiehgt tranfer and keeping the wheelie action under control also most miata guys dont go past 205 on tires and even on slicks 205 isnt gonna cut it to turn serius times.

 

I don't know, but a 10.90 Miata at 140 MPH through the traps is pretty serious. I don't know what size tire that was with though, but skyler's Miata wasn't tubbed.

10.90 is a hell of an ET for our cars considering the rubber we run. but from his trap he seemed to be hooking up pretty well. i am a one of those post ****** phillip was talking about btw.

skyler was running 225/50/15 BFG Drag radials. He got a 1.8 60' I think on that run, 28lbs of boost.
