Default Which miata is best?

Hey guys!

New to the forum, and looking to buy a Miata to turbocharge.

I searched, but couldn't find much information on which Miata would be the best year for turbo. Is there anything I should look out for when test driving them? Any particular thing I should look TO buy?

Thanks guys!!!

As you can imagine, this is a pretty common question. The above link was just asked last week. Here are some others:

how about just the best Miata period.

IMO, it's the '00 sport package. before the headlight change. after the initial '99 launch. it's the best looking, best handling package dollar for dollar.

turbocharging is a whole 'nother story

It's the '94.

-1st gens are lighter (90-97)
-Later cars have larger engine, larger brakes, and larger differential (94-97)
-OBDI cars are FAR easier to "legally" convert to standalone (94-95)
-'94 has 8.8:1 compression, vs. the '95s 9.0:1 (both are rated at 9.0, but the 3/95 and later cars have domed pistons, vs the flat pistons of the '94s)

'94 is the answer. Real oil pressure gauge, bigger motor, bigger brakes, bigger diff, and slightly lower compression.

Up, 94 is the best FI platform, imho. When I bought my car I was specifically looking for a 94.
