i love the sky. but 1) it's a GM. 2) the soft top/tonneau operation is f-tard. 3) it's still a GM

all i care about is how the 2.3L-t will f-up the weight distro? anyone know? another 150 lbs up front? at that price range, i think i'd still take a new S2K

they were heavily touting the 2.3L-T at MNAO last weekend during 7stock. Everyone was taking pictures of the motor on a stand. :gay:
We don't need more room and the look is decent i realy dont think it is better and the NC is heavier as well. Couple this with the old people suspension the car has and a modified NA is still the way to go.

Sure the NC is an upgrade to the NA in many ways. It's also 5 times as expensive. The NC is a new car. It should be compared to other new cars. The NA is an inexpensive 10 to 17 year old vehicle. Anyone considering buying an NC is likely also considering the skolstise, not an NA.

Looks are debatable. I think Mazda went off the rails by trying to make the NC look like the RX8. The RX8 was already ugly, why would they want another car like it. They needed to go a completely different direction with the miata. The NA is still popular and looks good at nearly 20 years old. In another 20 it will still be a classic design much like the English cars it was made to emulate. Don't think anyones going to say that about the NC.

The interior of the NC is cheap plastic. It feels great on the showroom floor..but how will it hold up like our NA and NB models. In the autocross scene in seattle there is a blue NC that has been killing its class.

Even though they have more power they arent as fun to drive. You dont have that strictly sports car feel. But I am interested in that new 2.3. I wonder how it would be to swap.

My '97 interior is all plastic... I think most cars made after "the war" are plastic dash etc. I don't see the problem.

For the record I like the way the NC looks. I just wish they were available with out power steering, 250 lbs lighter, and there should be a real sport model instead of packaging things like a limited slip with the additional weight of leather seats. WTF kind of a move was that?

I want one with A/C, limited slip, and a 6 speed. No cruise, no ABS, no PS, no leather seat, no heated seats, etc.

Looks better: subjective, I like the NA's looks over the NB/NC
handles better: stock for stock maybe, but who leaves them stock :gay:
more room: WHO .... CARES
faster: again, stock for stock..
better build quality: subjective, plus the NC costs more so it should
better interior: again, subjective.

The original Miata didn't need all that crap to sell, it had a formula and stuck with it. The NC is distracted by trying to compete against GM IMHO.

Like the saying goes, the NB (or NC) is a better car, the NA is a better Miata.

my roommate is a dumb girl, who drives like a girl. She's had her NC since they came out like 2 years ago, and it still looks great, everything works, and is a good daily.

NA miata > *.track car

I would like a NC if it came with the turbo 2.3, AC, PS that didn't wieght 230 lbs i dont see how but if Ark says it does i gues it does, 6 speed tranny, No airbag **** that saves a few hundred pounds. No abs, and a nice and tight LSD, and a HT with ST delete like i run now.

I miss typed that... I don't want power steering, and I want the car to weight ~250 lbs less.

a 2300lb car hasn't been a possibility since 1995 crash laws.
