Love the car... props for a thread that lets me start and finish reading in the same day! One criticism.. I seriously dislike the hood spacers :(

Very nice build...heavy budget, out of my league.
What did you spend on parts and labor? Also, that hood spacer is not helping cool your motor, you are better off without it. Keep it up. And stop the gheyness. |

The motor is obviously a piece of work... nice job.
I do have some constructive advice. #1: That filter is done. It's collapsed under whatever power you were previously running and is a serious restriction when it does collapse. You need new filter badly. #2: Coolant reroute? #3: Stock plastic radiator? That radiator will not support the cooling requirements of 350whp... and you will regret not doing a coolant re-route when you do swap to the new radiator. I would go so far as to say that this is not optional on that motor. |
So much awesome stuff done.
I really want to try the same thing some day but im afraid I may never find the time. |
yeah that filter needs to go bad...i know about the radiator and the re-route i just got the car back two days ago....the whole motor with parts came out to like 6k including the degree..the labor cost came out to 800 bucks cuz i helped out and there really good friends of mine...they have over 25 years building motors and stuff so there very reliable....
|
500 hp? heck even 350 hp...what are you planning to do for transmission and rear end? both will break under that power.
|
What Engine Management were you using before the motor blew?
|
i have the 6speed tranny, and for rear end the rx7 turbo II is going on...i'm running aem f/ic for now..

Judging by the pics maybe he lives at home? My miata would be 500hp if I live at home too. Nice build. Whole car looks well conceived except for those hood risers.

I hear 6k can get you in and renting an apartment these days...

At 19, I lived at home and was happy blowing my money on blow and hookers, let the kid enjoy it...when he moves out on his own he will drive beaters like we do.
|
My motor has the same internals and I'm trying to get 250whp out of mine...lol.

If you were paying for hookers at 19 it explains your Mr. Bean av. He's your idol! Even the fat chess club kids can get some at 19 without having to pay for it, particularly if they have blow. |
19 and a college grad? WTF you must be a genius

For the love of god do not blow this motor! Attachment 211820 You have add a Fuel Pressure Regulator and a return. How did you go about doing the route back into the tank? What is your thought behind this? Got a fuel rail for that engine yet? Http://www.m-tuned.com Nice Build! |
thanks i'm not going to blow this up....about the fuel line thing my builder did it the line runs back to some black thing thats under the fuel tank...i mean it works and all but i'll try to take some pics so you can see..
|
This is probably a dumb question, but why is it better to have a fuel system with a return? I'm guessing the NA has a return type, and the NB does not.

Please install a real ECU on your car. The guys at AEM are great, but I am not sure if I would trust the FIC at the powerlevels you plan to run..

Why the damper/balancer? Those are for old chev's without internally ballanced cranks?
