Anyone know what type of material to look at buying to make pedals larger like in this picture.

I have the same set. They're filled with dirt and scratched all to hell from my work boots, but they work great!

 

I'm asking what material to buy, steel, aluminium, etc to make my pedal adapter plates, ( white rectuangles in picture )

In that case I would just make them out of aluminum.

 

Or call Toyota, they should shed some light on what material and best safety practices...

If I were you clipless is the way to go!

 

I was planning to drill them and mount them with counter sunk bolts, can't have them moving at all.

 

That's exactly how mine are attached.

I couldn't imagine doing it any other way really. Other than tacking something on.

 

Aluminum, much easier to work with than steel. Buy the pedal extension for the throttle though, no point in wasting your time designing and fabbing something you can get for $20

 

The OP has previously inquired about DIYing a boost gauge, instead of just buying one for $35. And about boring the everloving **** out of a 1.6 block and then sleeving it, instead of just buying a good 1.8 block. Do you really think he's going to drop $20 on a pedal extension when he can reinvent the wheel for only $10?

 

Ever seen someone chop the pedals and re-weld for more leg room? Ive thought about trying it on the gas. (6'4" driver)

If you got a welder you can weld them on there too so thats another option.
