Default Monsterflow filter, IAT sensor relocation to OEM crossover tube

Picked up a very lightly used Monsterflow(MF) filter(with cleaner and tackifier) and want to attach it to the stock MAF on my N/A 99 NB.

Using the rubber gasket from the OEM airbox allows the MF to clamp and mate fine with the MAF

Now, what to do with the IAT sensor.

The NB crossover tube has a potential cutout next to the PCV tube inlet.

...Remove the crossover tube from car, drill 9/16 hole, silicone the IAT to the crossover.

Can this cutout/knockout be used to insert the IAT?
Looks like what is was designed for.
Any flow issues with the IAT being closer to the throttlebody?

Thanks, woodchuk
