hustler, corky's stuff is top notch. his website isn't as slick as FM's but i gotta tell you, the knowledge and craftsmanship sure as hell beat's FM's.

As for FM's engine building "skills", i've seen a teardown on a 1.6 buildup done by them that would make you wretch.

FM's engine building skills are that bad huh.

hmmm, lets just say pistons shouldn't make contact with the HEAD on an n/a motor running the oem redline. that's just one issue with this particular build.

+1 That way when you finally decide upon the way to get positive pressure into your manifold, your car will be ready. Do not discount the worth of a well tuned aftermarket ECU. Also, theres no need to bother with a built engine, its nice but not necessary. I rebuilt mine, but that was just for the sake of rebuilding an engine for my own personal enlightenment. I just got my megasquirt running and roughly tuned and it is a bit more than I can handle at just 8psi on the autocross track (stock miata's were getting the same time or better than mine).

As far as decisions go, the biggest is between supercharger and turbo. Each have their advantages and disadvantages. If you go turbo, then there is a decision to make about what size to go with. I am happy with my gt2554 on 1.6 and would not want to go any bigger because it pulls hard all the way to redline, so it seems very well matched to the engine.

With half ass work ethics like that,it makes you wonder how they can charge those prices for a engine rebuild.
