Default Moving to premiumless town. Debating octane booster.

I made the unfortunate discovery the other night that in the town im moving to, all the fuel stations appear to have stopped selling premium (at least for the time being). While I could drive to another town to get fuel, thats not always feasible and both my miata and MK7 GTI require at least 91.

I am considering octane booster or possibly just keeping a 5 gallon gas can around with 91 in it.

Has anyone had good experiences with octane boosters or have one that they recommend?

Thanks in advance.

I've used the Lucas one, 1 bottle per tank (at $18 a bottle, it adds some cost) and run it on top if the 93 to get from 15psi to 20psi without any issue; have found that the car is more balanced at 15psi anyways so I only run the octane booster if I know I am going to do some pulls with friends or at the drag strip

Sound like the Lucas one works, then. Im not super concerned about cost as I only want to use this when im low on fuel and in the town i live in. Im decently close to a city, so i'll probably just top it off whenever Im there.

Anything that keeps me from having to store fuel at my house.

After hurricanes, premium is not around. I have used the Lucas octane booster too. I have a 10 to 1 compression vvt engine running at 11 psi. Didn't have any problems.

Mk 7 GTI does not require premium? I know lots of people that run 87 in their Mk 7s and lots of tuners offer 87 octane tunes…

Awesome. Another good review for Lucas.

Im running a 91 specific tune. What tuners do 87 tunes? I haven't seen any.

APR and Stratified have OTS 87 octane tunes and there are others who will do custom 87 tunes for the AP. Not really relevant if already have a 91 specific tune…I assumed you were stock, whoops!

Oooohhhh.... I found it online. They have a table of actual ratios and what octane they produce. That's a promising contender.
