I always get this slight "twinge" before cutting into the car. Usually lasts about 5 seconds before I say "eff'it", and start cutting. ;) PS: nice job on the filter setup!

yeah I understand the feeling. It took about 6 beers and a half hour of staring at my fenders before I got the nerve up to make the cuts for the flares.

 airbox looks great! |
I'm not trying to make you spend more than $20, but when you finish you might want to take it to someone and see what it would cost to get an aluminum or stainless box made.
Yeah, this is from the guy who uses an old plastic clipboard for a control panel: http://www.lightweightmiata.com/rewire/rewire38.JPG |

I sent the flat pattern over to my fab shop to have him punch the pattern out of a piece of ABS. I was then going to add some heat and make the bends myself. But, my fab shop is behind and wouldn't be able to get to it till after the 1st of the year. I didn't have the patience to wait that long. If this one doesn't hold up, maybe I'll pursue the ABS version again. |

If I am going to pay somebody to make it for me, it's going to be formed out of ABS, not aluminum or steel. I'm trying to reflect the heat not absorb it.
