Looks good, but I can't imagine a .86 A/R with an external WG creeping unless there's something wrong with the EBC setup. Tricky.

Looks likes things are holding up well. Just because I'm lazy, are the fittings in the Tial WG and BOV 1/8 NPT? I think I can get hose and those fittings from work and I would much prefer that over rubber line.
What EBC solenoid is that as well?

Yeah, 1/8NPT. If you can't find the fittings at work I have a few extra and some line I can send your way.

The solenoid is Apexi, part of the AVC-R kit. M10X1 thread though.

Yeah, I'm waiting to hear from BEGI about a fix. Tial thinks it's the manifold design.

TurboTim 05-29-2008 10:19 AM

Ahh right I forgot that BEGI did that manifold with that odd balance tube. I'm sure Tial saw that and was like "ohh that's strange, that must be causing the problem".

I'm not sure why you'd need it.

I forgot about this thread. :)

In the 2+ years since installing the turbo I went through about 4 different engine managements, ran a 12.5 @112, built a motor then ran a 12.1 @123 on 20psi. Shortly thereafter I egged a rod bearing while doing a John Force burnout and put it all back together.

Today this showed up. GT3071, BEGI S6 manifold, external wastegate, all V-banded. I'm shooting for 400+ to the wheels and a mid 11 at 125+.

How did you know your bearing was dead?

.82 turbine?

Knocksense light went on steady, oil pressure dropped a bit, and it sounded like someone was pounding on the block with a hammer.

Here's what the bearings from the #1 cylinder looked like.

I went with the .63 AR. If its choked up the housing shouldn't take more than an hour to swap for the .82.
