my darn turbo fell off twice today!!!!
so i drove 3.5 hours to Englishtown NJ to attend East Coast Bash All Stars Drift Day, drove the first session, and right at the end of it i noticed that i was giving it more and more throttle to keep the drift but it wasnt ********. Thought that it was just getting a little heated and opened the hood etc. to check it over and found the turbo to basically sitting sideways on the manifold, the only thing that was holding it was the DP. anywhooz i went to lowes and got new bolts, lost my wallet, found it. ate lunch, installed the bolts. did another session.low and behold same thing. But the bolts barley stayed in the holes of the turbo. I have heard of this problem but had never had to deal with it my self. What different types of methods do you all use? the wire through bolts and or those crazy washers....?
ooh yeah pics. http://inlinethumb43.webshots.com/41...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb28.webshots.com/27...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb32.webshots.com/17...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/42...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb33.webshots.com/40...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb58.webshots.com/41...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb40.webshots.com/44...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb22.webshots.com/40...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb26.webshots.com/74...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/39...600x600Q85.jpg |

as in non-metric? wat. |
my friends were filming the event and had press passes, they said you tore shit up, way to rep lol
btw how scary was it when the IS300 hit your door? they were there for that too lol |
Can't really give you a solution for studs coming out.. for nuts/washer issues get the airplane wire kit... works like a charm.
|
I should have taken off work!! A friend of mine from work went and had a blast.
|
safety wire through the nut and stud, and it will never move again
|
I don't have an answer for you. I know Paul asked Bryce in an earlier post if he had a flex section. He said that may be why his turbo bolts sheared off. ( this may not corralate????)
Anyway, I would find a commercial bolt specialty shop. They have any grade stud and bolt available. They probably have some predrilled with holes for wiring. They usually have a min $5-10 buy. But extra bolts and muts are always handy. Usually everytown of 50,000 pop has one. |
