The car is SICK. I couldn't describe the feeling I have right now. Totally different car.

So now I have a map for 10psi and one for 13psi. We also made a map so I can pass emissions.

Big thanks to everyone on this forum that is awesome as fuck. If it weren't for alot of you guys, I wouldn't have gone this far. :bigtu:

Now its time to take a shower and then go drive this fucker for a bit! :)

Braineack 11-17-2009 04:19 PM

and this is a 1.6L? This puts mine to shame...

18psi 11-17-2009 04:22 PM

Very damn good for a 1.6.

All your blood/sweat/tears paid off man.

elderc 11-17-2009 04:23 PM

WOW ! nice numbers I want a bigger Turbo :sadwavey:

Vashthestampede 11-17-2009 04:30 PM

I have it written down which T28 it is, but I don't remember off the top of my head. Yep, this is a stock 1.6. And the car was on the dyno for over 6 hours total, and my damage was $650. It was well worth the money, I learned a shitload, and the car is fantastic. Really, I couldn't be happier. :)

levnubhin 11-17-2009 09:34 PM

Awesome numbers man, congrats. The tune must be spot on, It took 16 psi for me to get 242. Please let us know when you can exactly what turbo you are running. Id also like to take a peak at your spark/fuel maps.

We just changed the accel settings to all 0's and re-tuned the fuel table. No more hiccup. I love this forum! :bigtu:

Good deal!

great thread...its making me excited to start my own build thread..:D

Congrats, how much power were you making before the dyno??

Nomie

magnamx-5 11-17-2009 11:59 PM

gj vash those are respectable numbers and scot yeah your cheapo turbo build has been a disapointment to me but ohwell your still cool.

Fireindc 11-18-2009 02:13 AM

Damn, good numbers. Hope you enjoy the car vash.

Fireindc 11-18-2009 02:14 AM

Thanks guys! The car is great! So far I am more than happy with the power. :)

On the highway its like a joke when I pass cars now. I can spot an opening and be through it before anyone even knows whats going on. Then when I look in the rear view everyone is just about out of my sight. Granted I need to be easy with it cause I don't need anymore tickets, but its hard to not drive the car fast. I actually had to tell myself out loud last night to "stop it". Once my camera mount is here I will take some videos for you guys. :bigtu:

I did notice I have an exhaust leak somewhere by the turbo/dp area. I'm going to see if I can find it and fix it today. Its a little aggravating hearing it sputter like a shitty honda right when I hit the gas. Once boost kicks in though you cant hear it anymore over the turbo noise.

Also, it took 2 tries to get it started this morning. Not sure how cold it was, maybe in the high 30's low 40's. I'm wondering if I should play around with any settings to help the car out in the cold NE mornings.

Here's my spark map and fuel map.

Braineack 11-18-2009 08:18 AM

that is a very curious ing/fuel map...

I'm going to be totally honest here, so don't take this the wrong way.

With an ign table like that and those numbers on a 1.6L at 13psi...it really makes me think correction factors came into play to make a customer feel good about spending 6 hours on the dyno and paying $650...I'd really be careful with a ign map like that, pretty much zero retard as you spool and at peak torque, and then a very advanced map in boost.

Look how you compare to artieparty's absurdflow setup on a 1.8L at the same PSI:

Wasn't much of a build but a swap of turboz. Old one will go back in the spring.

I get what you are saying, that he could be fluffing me with high numbers, but I don't think that's the case. He's pretty much the most respected tuner in the area. He doesn't fuck around with cars like this either, he plays with expensive toys that are track and drag monsters. He's a friend of a friend and that's how I got the hook up. I highly doubt he would BS the numbers to make me feel good. He knew I was happy with 220, he was more into making bigger numbers than I was! lol

He told me the timing is where its at. He was explaining to me about some other cars he had worked on and that once you get the timing right, your numbers will start going up dramatically.

True, but too much and things go boom...I've seen it and experienced it, just throwing out my :2cents:

Just for kicks, what do you think needs adjusting? Do you think my 35's and 30's are too close to where I start making boost?

I was talking to the guy that owns the Honda shop in our complex about the car and he said next time he has a tuning session hes going to give me a call so I can bring it by and throw it on the dyno (mustang) and compare numbers.

Today was the first time I actually pressed down on the gas, rather than milk it, and the son of a bitch threw me into the seat. I remember what 180hp felt like, this feels like a whole new world.

18psi 11-18-2009 01:56 PM

Be careful Joe. I melted a piston, Neo melted a piston, Sav now melted a piston. Too many people melting pistons these last few months to get crazy with timing.

And I agree with brain, your timing looks AGGRESSIVE to me too.

miataspeed2005 11-18-2009 02:28 PM

Specially at torque peak! Joe don't forget you have a stock motor and timing will kill the motor as fast as boost will. If you wanna swing by my house this weekend I'll show you my map

Vashthestampede 11-18-2009 02:56 PM

Which part of the timing map would you suggest I lower some numbers?

elderc 11-18-2009 03:17 PM

Whats the Garrett # of your T28 I'am looking to upgrade.
Thanks
