I just really didn't think there was a way my car could pick up some random bolt and chunk it out like it did. It was loud as hell and scared the shit out of me!

I keep telling people that you must have one of these in your garage:
Approved Vendor 2EE44 Thread Measuring Gage It will save you infinite hassle. That looks like a ASTM heavy hex bolt...and if you could tell the diameter and thread pitch with the above gauge you'd know for sure. http://www.marfas.com/images/A193a.gif I've drawn (and made) so many of these...I'd say that one's a 7/8"-9UNC x 3 1/2" |
Well then I feel like an idiot. I went out there later that night with a hammer and screw driver and pried it out of the ground. It took like 10 mins. of dodging cars and hitting it with a hammer to knock it out and it wasn't even my bolt.

Were you driving on a dirt road? How the hell did it get imbedded in the ground?

It was just plane old asphalt on a highway.
