Anyone know if you can seperate the airbag from the front cover on the passenger bag and reinstall the cover in the car? Seems like a lot of weight could be saved as the passenger bag is heavy. I haven't even pulled the module from the dash. I'm just sitting here thinking.

 

I think someone makes a replacement carbon cover for it, but I believe it's integral to the cover. It's easy to remove though.

 

You can remove the airbag from the cover. Take some strategic prying and some cussing but its doable. I removed mine and put the cover back in the dash. the cover just snaps back in.
