If you got water in the ignition, 12 hours with the hood up may not be enough to dry it out. Try taking the coil wires off and if you see water in the plug wells or coils then dry it up by hand.

I just pulled the ignition wires, coilpacks, and spark plugs. I sprayed them with wd40 and dried them with my air compressor. Still no go. It's not fuel because nothing there just broke overnight. I wondered if maybe water got in some other connector, like the MAF or CAS. I unplugged a lot of the wiring harness and closed the hood to see if anything else got wet. When the key is in the ignition part there is the CEL, parking brake light, and the battery light (This is pretty odd. It's plugged into a battery charger, so maybe that's why it is showing that).

Didn't do an oil relocation did you?

Your pictures look very dry.

Ouch, I'm so sorry to hear that happened to your car. No relocation kits here. I think it was just because the engine hadn't ran in 1.5 months when I took the pictures.

I actually got the car running again. What I did this time was unplug most of the wiring harness (stuff like the CAS, crank sensor, etc) and let it dry. After about a day and a half it finally started after a couple cranks while pumping the gas. It ran pretty bad for a while before it warmed up. But now it's running great. Pretty weird, I sincerely hope rain doesn't affect it like that in the future.

NB2 Won't Start After Timing Belt

Remove all connectors again, put a dab of vaselin in each one before reassembly.
If it works well offshore it should work well for your wet :likecat:

They make stuff better than Vaseline for that. I'll have to talk to owner of our Chump Car about what we use.

How'd it end up? I have a no start after TB change and will check the marks, but really interesting in the no start second time. Thanks!

Compression

As for the pulley, I did not remove the trigger wheel. It was facing the right way before I took the crank pulley off.

Spark: Spark is good. I thought it might be the issue because when we pulled the coil packs out, we could see spark, but it was faint. The car has pretty new ignition lines and spark plugs, and I just installed new coil packs.

Fuel: I can certainly smell it when it is cranked, but I have not tested it.

this is far fetched but check compression I bought an nb2 miata that I got cheap because they told be it was having this exact same issue turns out the head gasket was blown and was leaking compression causing the engine to turn over a bit too fast and it didn't start.

I’ve got the same no start afteR Tb

I hit it with starter fluid and it will crank over and run normal until I give 50% throttle then it bogs down. I have to give it light throttle in order to make it through the gear into the next. Also the car idles way high after a few minutes drive.. (1750 up to 2500rpm) I’m gonna check the cat and timing by way of cam gears and top dead center tomorrow. I’ve unplugged every sensor one at a time to ensure a difference/killing of the motor. Harmonic balancer was replaced at time of TB. Tone wheel will be double checked as well. This bogging symptom was what prompted the TB change.. also the water pump seized for a split second right before my eyes and had obvious marks where it had contacted its housing.. bahh the half hearted trouble shooting continues on a car I’ve owned for 15 years😂
