Default Need a Guru

Just did a HG on a friends 1991. He blew HG ans over heated it. He told me he saw it get hot than the lower rad hose broke.

Tore it down and had the head milled replaced the bad gasket and its back together and runs fine. My question is about the temp sensor on the dash board is not working and it was before I did this hob. The temp sensor on the back of the head with the two wire plug was cracked when I took it off so I replaced it. Thats the one for the dash gauge...right???

The only other thing I can think it could be is there is a single wire plug coming out of the wiring harness where the coil pack plug, O2 sensor come from that does not seem to plug into anything. Whats it go to?

the two wire sensor that points straight up is the one for the ECU. The dash gauge runs off a separate sensor. It's a single wire unit the mounts horizontally into the casting below the one for the ECU. Feel around, it's back there really it is.

It's the blue arrow one. Also, double check the grounds near the back of the head as I think a ground for the dash gauge is near the back of the head as well.
