I just came across these Fuzion ZRi tires. They look really damn good. Anyone used them? They're only like $370 out the door and from all the reviews, they look to be great all around.

The g-force sport is in a whole different class from the rest of those being discussed here. It's a "sporty" tire, but with a treadwear rating of 340 it's more in league with tires such as the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 and the Toyo T1R. The tires in the UTQG 200 and under category (Falken RT-615, Hankook R-S2, Bridgestone RE-01R, and the ultra-sexy new Toyo R1R) are simply going to give you pretty much the best dry grip and cornering stability you can get short of an R-compound.

Same thing on the Fuzion, I'd suspect. I haven't driven on them, and I hate to keep harping on just one aspect of tire construction, but you just can't achieve a >300 treadwear rating without sacrificing some grip. If you want a serious performance tire that can tolerate driving through some water without killing you instantly, I'd really suggest focusing on either the RE-01R or the R-S2.

OK, so I'm almost done with my Fuzion ZRis. They were a good all around tire. Sidewalls left a little to be desired, but grip was good for my <200whp (estimated) car and lasted a good year and a half of spirited driving and long trips back and forth from SC to FL. Now I'm stepping up and building a new motor and need a better tire. I'm between the 615 and blowing double the price on the RE-11s. Are the RE-11s really worth double the price? I know the wet traction is better which is good since there tends to be a lot of standing water in Charleston and Florida, but are they really that amazing? I only saw a couple threads in searching and no one really talked about them.

the gforce sports man so long as the ground is real cold or has snow on it you wont get a better tire for your power lvl. Seriusly if i didnt wanna do more track type shit ie drag racing i would already have another set on my car at 300 or so whp.

Have you run the 615s?

If you're gonna go between the 615 and RS2, I say go with the RS2. I ran both and I hated the 615's, got rid of them early and sold them to a friend so I could get back on RS2s. The dry grip lacked confidence and the wet grip...well, there was none.
I'd probably pay the extra if youre gonna go with the RE11 anyway.

I do have a set of rims with RS2s on them. I guess I should mount them and see if they're worth buying. There are a lot of people that don't like them it seems, but since I got 'em I might as well try 'em.

I'm questioning RE11 prices, no way am I paying $200+/tire.

I'm running on 225/45/15 R1R's and love them. They're a very good warm-weather tire w/ tread. They seem comparable to my 205/50/15 Toyo RA1s, except I've got traction in the rain. The RA1s were very good in the rain, unless it was standing water. Not bad for a bald R-compound.

Fusion Zr1 is a good choice. Affordable, good wear, great in the wet. Here's the tirerack comparison. By far the most consistant comparing wet and dry. Reasonably quiet and comfortable. It is not the performance tire that the RS2, 615 and others are. It's more of a compromise road tire.

Toyo proxies T1R

How does the T1R compare to the RS2? They're about the same price and the T1R looks like a good tire. Too bad tirerack doesn't have Toyo so no comparison. I liked the ZRi, but I was right at the edge of grip with them and with more power, I'm sure I'll break them loose when I don't want to. Plus they don't make the ZRi anymore.

trust me tricker some 225-50 gforce sports will hold all your power and more for about 95 bucks a tire off tirerack.

I think a good track street tire would be the nt05, z1 star spec, rs3. If you want something cheaper and to last longer I would pick up that Falken street tire that won grassroots budget tire test. It wasn't the Azenis...maybe 912 zeiks or something?
