Default need some help with miata radio

so i bought a miata as a daily for work and the kid bought it from was young so the more i drive it i find lil things that should of never been done to the car for any other reason that f it racecar... that being said i found out after buying a new radio deck and speaker that the antenna cable has been remove from the car and so here is the issue the radio wont get power cause the ground from the antenna is not there. So could i just ground the outer ring of the antenna jack of the radio is to the car? i dont need am/fm just need the radio to power on...and i will end up finding a used cable or buying new for the car i would just like to make it a few days back and forth to work having some way to play music.. thanks for any help

If you're putting in an aftermarket radio you can just ground the black wire to the metal brace in the radio cavity, scrape the paint off and use a self tapping screw or tap into the cigarette lighter ground. If it's an oem radio just ground it the same way except you'll be connecting the ground to the radio chassis.
