Hello, I was recently in contact with a company who is producing Universal IRTBs. I am posting this to see what interest, if any, there is in this product.
These assemblies are designed to allow someone with modest tools and ability to build their own adapter plate and mount these IRTBS on it for a custom setup much cheaper than currently available.
I do not know a great deal about this type of setup, so if you have particular questions you need answered, let me know and I will find the answer for you.
If there is indeed an interest, I have no problem setting up a group buy.

The owner of the company also stated that he had no problem manufacturing the adapter plate if there is enough interest.

The kits as they are will come with the throttlebodies, air horns, filters, and fuel rail, but no injectors.

They are also currently working a on forced induction version.

Full vader body kit, ground effects, 17" wheels, Italian steering wheel, Netami Racing Seats, 6 pt sfi rated harnesses, 4 port turbo extractor hood, large rear wing, reinforced and boxed frame rails and sub-structure, SS tein coilovers, full performance urethane suspension bushings, custom wheel alignment.

Motor:
H beam rods, forged 9:1 pistons, balanced rotating assembly, knife edged crank, '00 head, fully polished and ported, oversize manley valves(stainless intake & enconel exhaust), exh-intake cam setup, custom fabricated intake ( of my own design) with 75mm Mustang throttlebody, direct port fogger nitrous system, custom fuel rail, larger injectors, TO4E 50 trim hybrid turbo, ETD manifold, ...

im a member there too along with miata.net. The california section does kick ***....ill give u that one lol. But its too hardcore for me I guess then again thats why there are 3-4 forums, everyone has different ideas and tastes. But ya Streets of willow would be fun i wanna start tracking this car already now that its getting together.

 

Dont knock the IRTB's guys. At the Tire Rack Autocross tour (Atwater stop) there were like 7 miatas running in the CSP class with IRTBs I think and they were god damn quick. The top guys would have been competitive with SM2, which is what I ran and got 2nd to last place lol.

 

Is there a benifit to having the injectors in the irtb rather then in the head? Would irtb's be as usefull in a turbo setup? I would like to improve my off-boost throttle response.

I am cetainly not the best person to answer, as I have never used an IRTB setup. I have been told that, once tuned, the IRTB setup has incredible throttle response. The old hilborn, mechnical injection from somewhere around late 60s, early 70s was a mother @*^&$( to tune, but once tuned was awsome. It was an IRTB setup.
You may remember seeing old pictures of the chevy's and ford's with 8 chrome pipes sticking up where the carburator should have been!

Keep in mind that, for your turbo setup, you are going to have the added cost of a plenum. You have to direct the pressurzed air to four individual throttlebodies, instead of one. If you decide to do that, I can put you intouch with the guy who makes the IRTBs, as they are currently developing a plenum, or I can send you to the company I used to get the materials for my custom intake.

Yes and NO! The Ability to move the Injector closer or further from the valve allows for fuel emulsification tuning! Honda 929 and other run 8 injectors on 4 cylinders, they run 4 close to the Valve to help low in torque and Throttle Response and 4 in the Airbox pointed at the Air Horns, thee 4 give an advantage in top end horse power! High HP Turbo guys will have this option in the future! See Attached!

Fuel Rail mounted outside the Extrudabody Foam Filter will make the Injector Bridge work for N/A's or the Injector can be Mounted in the Plenum for Turbos! This will require Staged Injection of Course!

sorry to say but this is only the socal section, too far from norcal

 

IRTB's are neat, but other than throttle response, I dont see them being that good for the street. Unless you are looking for something unique. No real power gains vs $$$$ spent.

If I spend money on the engine, I want a bang for my buck.
