Default NOOb questions

Hello, have some questions for those of you that are knowledgeable, they are really basic just need some clarification.

My car is 1996 NA Import with 99-00 Cylinder head and inlet manifold, I have td04 setup, ms2e diypnp, intercooler, mac boost valve, 650cc bosch ev14s, aem wideband, fm clutch and torsen lsd. Car puts out around 220bhp at the wheels, car was mapped professionally twice

1. Does the ecu changes ignition at different rpm, why im asking is because the car feels a bit rough when not in boost at low rpm, few people drove it and they said its smooth. Maybe something in my head but pretty sure it wasnt like this when na and it used to sing from 0-7k. Feels a bit like the ignition is out ?

2. IS there anyway to make the engine smoother across rev range, any tricks on possibly how to stop vibration coming through the pedals? Engine work possible if good results are achievable

3. Would like the car to be faster, already spent close to 7k on it, so looking for ideas on which way to go without changing manifold down pipe etc. Car never sees a track and its a daily, possibly thinking about selling and starting fresh with mk2.5, I really do prefer the mk1 looks

Really hope the questions aren't extremely stupid

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site, that's a really nice looking setup.

As far as ignition timing the megasquirt can adjust timing throughout the rev range. You can download tunerstudio on a laptop and connect to the computer to view and adjust settings. If you can post your tune or a screenshot your timing map there are usually a few guys on the site willing to lend some feedback and advise.

It sounds like your turbo may be the limiting factor in the setup power wise. Most people aren't too comfortable pushing a daily driven car much past your power level, but you could certainly get a little more out of it.

Check your motor mounts to see if they are torn. That may be the source of some of your vibrations.
It's probably not a good idea to fiddle with your tune with the turbo setup on the car until you have some experience.

I wouldn't be too worried. There is tons of documentation here about MS and tuner studio. I have spent hours reading and there is still tons more. It doesn't all make sense to me, but the pieces are there and everyone had to start somewhere. I would suggest diving into it.
