No. Should have a pretty positive impact on temperatures, think about how much more air is moving through there Better options? Yes, but that bumper sure as hell can't hurt.

Well I was wonder what was going on that the engine would get that hot. Its not turboed is it?

The RS aizawa bumper on the blue car used to me mine. It was good for 5-7 degrees cooler water temps than the stock bumper, if I recall.
