Default Welding and Electronics

I am getting ready to start on my 2.5" exhaust, and it will be a lot easier if I can do some of the welding on the car.

Just wondering what others have done to protect the electronics while welding.

Thanks.

Disconnect the ground is all you should have to do, If you're real scared pull your ECU out entirely. People weld exhaust on cars all the time without even pulling the ground. All you'll be doing is tack welding your exhuast pieces together on the car, you'll end up with much better welds doing the rest off the car and you won't run the risk of frying anything electrical.

You need to be way more concerned about the stuff falling on you when you're making the tack welds.

Just unplug the negative cable just to be safe. That is what I have always done, and nothing bad yet. I prefer to play safe than to jump in to just see that my ecu has fried.
