Default Overheating problems ( no fan )

I recently installed a bigger aluminum radiator, and now my fan isn't working. My car will overheat before the fan will kick in. Has anybody else faced this problem? It isnt the fan because I tried my spare one I had laying around. Could it be the thermosensor that activates the fan? Just seems odd its not working all of a sudden.
