pic reuest! turbo manifolds

i have bought a gt2876r turbo to replace my t25 that came as part of the hks kit asi have been havin a few problems with it it has a t25 flange so i could just bolt is straight to my hks cast manifold which seems to be great but i fancy a bit more bling

could you post picture up of you turbo exhaust manifolds so i could get some ideas ideally want top mount but do like underslung turbos
ill even make one if i have too

pic, manufacturer and approx cost would be great

thanks lee

Braineack 07-21-2008 05:41 PM

I so highly doubt a 2876 will fit on a hks manifold....well, it will fit, but not with the hood shut.

this will be your best example...top mounted 2876 :) :

most likely yes, if the wheels are really the same.

Offset top mount. We'll see how well it works, I haven't even test fitted it yet. Good ole' weld-els.

That's what I'm going to be running with a GT2560 as soon as Tim's done making it. :)

TurboTim 07-22-2008 09:14 AM

That 2876 looks BIG! :)

y8s 07-22-2008 09:52 AM

tim: you know you want one.

by the way, are you working on V8s now? :D

TurboTim 07-22-2008 10:00 AM

I've always worked on V8's ;)

m2cupcar 07-22-2008 10:07 AM

SSA BP (mounted to an FE) - don't know if it's a ripoff or not, it's been around a long time. btw- Tim, can you copy a manifold with it in hand? more or less work than doing the work from ground zero?

That manifold was a knock-off of the Original ETD Racing Miata Long Tube Turbo Manifold. I believe Y8S might have the ETD version on his car.

Braineack 07-22-2008 11:17 AM

yep y8s manifold posted above is the real ETD version.

m2cupcar 07-22-2008 11:20 AM

so SSA can't take credit for the #4 ewg mount? ;)

y8s 07-22-2008 12:21 PM

I wonder if the SSA wg mount will actually let you mount a WG. :D

bare-ish manifold:

Braineack 07-22-2008 12:24 PM

why dont you pick a bigger wasgate?

m2cupcar 07-22-2008 01:29 PM

y8s you just needed the six flag's style ewg extender tube (similar to your bov tube) that came on cjernigan's car ;)

I'm not impressed with any of the joints on the inside- in my opinion it's very poorly done, but the outside looks great. They assured me that "this is how we make our manifolds" so we shall see. I can take some pics of the collector to show you what I mean if there is interest.

Yeah.. That manifold was designed for a Tial 35. Way before Turbosmart came to the North American shores from Aussie land.

m2cupcar 07-25-2008 08:54 AM

prolly wouldn't fit a turbonetics gate either- they're fat up top too

M-Tuned 07-25-2008 09:14 AM

Yeah.. Back when that manifold was made the Turbonetics Deltagate was a total piece of shit and Tial was worth its weight in gold. Tial was all they used. That manifold was designed about 7+ years ago. It is no longer made as we find the shorty manifolds are more popular for the mass population.

I actually returned the Turbosmart and picked up a TiAL 35.

didn't fit either!

I ended up cutting off the port and welding it back on downstream a half inch.

ebay seems to have a new 1.6 manifold with downpipe. Fit and durability is unknown though.

I posted the story in my build thread....

https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/sho...t=19010&page=5

*Edit* sorry about the delay, I forgot about this thread. (i know, i know, it's no excuse). If anyone needs more information, or pictures please let me know. I will never, ever be doing business with them again. Their shady practices, poor customer support, and really, just lack of caring has left such a sour taste in my mouth. It really is a shame...

like mx03 turbo mounted on the bottom gives you less of bend in the exhasut. You running ac or power steering.

mx03tb 08-14-2008 02:02 PM

lol..i'm running both a/c and power steering...
