Default Probably Very Politically Incorrect but I had to ask.

Whats the suggested max weight in a miata. I've had a few people ask me about my car, and a few of them have been pushing 300lbs. I know one couple where both of them are in the high 200's if not 300's as well. I hate going for spirited runs in my car with anyone heavier than me as a passenger.

I've got to imagine two people pushing anything more than 200lbs in a stock/near stock miata would be a bit of a bore.

I'm not trying to be mean but ****, I know these guys are going to end up talking trash about how slow the car once they have their wives with them. Just for the record I was one of those guys, I lost 60lbs this year as part of my "Weight Reduction Program". Its cheaper to take weight off the driver than it is a miata.

IIRC The GVWR is around 2800 lbs. Subtract what the car weighs and you have your answer.

technically it's not politically incorrect (or harassment) if it's a lifestyle choice vs. an innate trait.

you can not make fun of: baldness, skin color, missing limbs, disabilitiesm, hotness, height

you can make fun of: weight, clothes, car

well i know that me at 230 lbs and my dad at the same weight are pretty much rubbing shoudlers the whole time while tunning etc. However power isnt exactly lacking in my car so i am just speaking from a chassis standpoint anyone over 300 with a mate of 300 or more should probly get a bigger car to drive around 2 up.

How do you guys fit? I'm 170lbs, 6' tall and feel so claustrophobic with the top up.

Man I gained like 30 lbs since I got my car and I owe the gym 100 bucks.

I fit nice at 6'2". Especially with the new seat!

Actually it's much less than you think. Check out the tag on your driver's side door. Mine says the vehicle capacity weight is 340lb (I presume that includes passengers as well as cargo). But, my door is from a different year. Good thing I'm a welterweight, since I still have no turbo.

I am 6'4" and 210. Just me no big deal, i have had a 300 pound guy ride with me at autocross, i ran like 3 seconds slower on a 50 second course. It pushed real bad too.

I had a buddy in the car that weighed about that much and it felt like I had my trailer on the back when it had a Moser 9 inch, torque arm, slicks, skinnies, and a T56 on it!

Me losing weight has made a difference in how the car feels, and how I feel in the car.

Get yourself a pair of thin-person racing seats. That will solve any kind of passenger issues you may encounter as they will simply not fit.
