I agree that it depends on the color choices.
My miata is yellow with black racing stripes that would look good, but doesnt, because they look like who ever did them used industrial sized electrical tape and didnt have enough to do one complete stripe at a time |

Not really a fan of them. There are certain cars they work on, others they don't. Miata is one of those that it looks strange IMO.

I don't have stripes anymore, but I liked them while I had them. These were dark silver with a light silver border.

Tie broken! The stripes seem to appeal to the old guys like me and Artie.

Sorry to re-deadlock, but I just don't really dig on stripes :/.

I think with the red color you could pull of some dark gunmetal grey stripes, or something of the sort. Red/white is WAY overplayed.
So YES and NO imo. |
I thought for a while that flat black stripes on my car would be cool, but then i woke up and decided....nay.

Pretty damn even split on the poll so far. |

I'm generally not a fan of striped Miatas. However, the PO of my car had these painted on, and, while I find them too narrow, they go well with the top & interior...so all good.

Totally depends on the miata, and on the stripe(s), and on the quality of execution.
When I was looking for a miata, there was one here in Oregon that was very sekseh. I am not sure what model it was. I believe it was a 2004, and it had a dark blue cloth interior and top. Might have been a Shinsen. It had asymmetrical racing stripes - a 3/4" wide one down the left body, and the right front fender had a diagonal double 3/4" wide stripe. Difficult to describe and difficult to picture, but it was very well done. I didn't get it because it had a 5 speed, no LSD, and didn't have a hardtop. Also, it had heavy snowflake wheels. They looked good, but were heavy. |

As a noob, I've posted up a few pic's of my car with stripes when I introduced my self, so I'm a fan of them if done right.:)

I like the look of bbundy's as seen here in post #12 for a track car. https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t45256/
And I like the looks of some of these here in this thread as well; but it's the sleeper look for me. |
