Unhappy Recommend me a good clutch hose

My FM steel clutch hose did this last Sunday night. Fortunately for me, it waited till after dinner.

It just... came apart. Like it was never crimped. But it was in use for about 30,000 miles. Then it just popped apart while I was parked at a stoplight...

.... requiring me to get a flatbed home.

This is the 2nd time I've had a clutch hose break. First one was a stocker that burst less than a mile from my house. I was able to putt home without stopping and shifting sans clutch. This time, I was 17 miles from home (according to the flatbed ride receipt.)

Does anyone have a favorite clutch hose? Or rather a TRUSTWORTHY clutch hose? I'd not mind getting rid of the stock curly-q hardline. But really, if the answer is "just get a new stock hose" I'd be happy with that. Ideally this replacement clutch hose would last a bit longer than 30,000 miles.

I didn't realize they had one. I was also considering the 949 hose that gets rid of the curly-q.

thanks!

The TSE one gets rid of the curly-q also. I have one and it seems to work fine.

I custom made one and never had a problem for 60k miles I ordered the adapters to go from hard line to -3 an and ordered a pre-made line from Russel the right length and never looked back.

So is your clutch starter switch not disabled? That's How I got 26 miles home. Started in 1st with the starter button, then rev matched the rest of the way. It was kinda fun. Made my boring commute a bit of a challenge.

I'm another TSE clutch line owner btw. Love it, cheap, pretty, gets rid of curly-q line, and so far works great. No where near 30,000 miles on it though.

Just go to your local parker or other hydraulic hose store and have them make you up a section of hose to work. take a peice of brake line with the correct fittings on it with you as well and they will be able to crimp a steel braided teflon inner hose onto that for 30-40 bucks at the lenght you need.

Or, you know, spend 45 bucks on the TSE part...
