ReLowered+Extra Lower Steering Column
3 Attachment(s)
My uber-seat project is 95% finished. All that's left to do is figure out how to bolt the seatback to the rearwall of the cockpit.
For big guys to get a little more legroom with the stock seat, it's customary to remove 2 steering column spacers that raise the wheel about 1.5"... makes a huge difference. But my new seat has me sitting about 5" lower than what would be stock. So I've replaced the stock spacers and added a couple extra washers. I figure the wheel is about .5-75" lower than stock. When removing the bolts that hold the column up, I snapped one off and the threads on the tac-welded nut were hosed. I dremeled off the nuts and got some grade8 bolts for the fix. |
interesting.

After a 20 mile drive, it's perfect or height. I could actually stand to have it come back towards me an inch or two, but I guess I'll have to get used to it.

So your saying that if I remove those 2 spacers the steering wheel will go up 1.5"?

I'm bumping this up for the other lardos like me in here who would like the wheel position up a bit. I'm hoping it helps with the smaller wheels blocking half the cluster.
