Hey, im in process of repainting the car, ubt i have a question. MY car has a 2-3 inch black stripe on the bottom of the car does it look better to keep it, or just change to red like the rest of the car? Any suggestions?
I say paint them body color. The black is nice because it is a kind of rockguard style paint, it resists chipping better I think. You can actually get some rockguard additive I believe that you can spray on before you shoot the basecoat, I'm not sure though, haven't done it myself.
Here's a picture of an NA with painted rockers. I think it looks pretty good.

Could always just pick one up from the dealer. They're like $170 shipped i think for that R-style lip. I think rosenthal has a good price on them, there i a thread here about it somewhere.
From teh crease down is a more orange peel type of paint style because it resists chipping better. When I repainted mine, we sanded all that crap down so it would be a smoothed out finish when we were done. We also took out the black stripe fwiw.
Me too, that was a BITCH.
looks better though.
