I have no words.

Can we all start prank calling him?

turbofan 12-31-2013 01:17 AM

Can you imagine what the inside of his domicile looks like?

triple88a 12-31-2013 02:07 AM

I sure hope he didnt rebuild the engine him self.

18psi 12-31-2013 04:15 AM

I keep opening that link and staring at the pictures trying to convince myself its photoshopped

concealer404 12-31-2013 07:54 AM

That is the worst thing i've ever seen. Ever.

I had an easier time looking at Goatse.

pdexta 12-31-2013 09:41 AM

As I was looking at the pictures, I'm thinking "Ok, so this car has lived a rough life, but it's not completely unsalvagable." Then those interior pics, ahhhhh!

Chiburbian 12-31-2013 09:42 AM

I am actually slightly embarassed to admit that I helped him get this car back on the road.

His head gasket failed and so he replaced it but couldn't get it running after he put it all together. We went back and forth (on Miata Club FB group) for a week or so with me asking how he set his cam/crank timing when he put his belt on. I described the proper way, he said he did it that way - until finally he said he didn't know - maybe (?)...

So I went to his house and when he opened his garage I saw things that troubled me, mainly that I recognized it as once being the car pictured in this thread. Either way, I helped him time the engine and put the belt back on. There were a couple other issues with that car but by the time I left that night it was back on the street.

Funny story - after it was fixed(?) we started talking about my car and the mods I have done. I told him that at my current state of tune I was somewhere just under 200hp. He claimed that his car was 200hp, so after a bit of pleasant chit-chat I took him for a drive around his neighborhood. Needless to say he ended that ride knowing that his butt-dyno needs some calibration.

I don't want to talk crap about the kid - he was nice enough to me. I have seen similar poor choices in modding a car but rarely have I seen EVERY bad decision in the same car at the same time.

Whatever, the car made him happy. Unfortunately I don't think the car will survive intact with what he wants out of it money wise. With as fubar as everything is (wiring, interior) I can't ever see it being put back together as a car.

Funny thing though - I gave him crap about the hood being lifted in the rear initially too. I didn't see the point in arguing at the time. BTW, he had no undertray.

I would completely understand if I lost props for actually letting this poor miata live...

PS- This car is EVERY bit as bad in person as it is in pictures, if not more so.

triple88a 12-31-2013 07:56 PM

Perhaps it's a relative of Techsalvager?

pdexta 01-01-2014 05:57 PM

That's being sold by a dealer... I can only assume someone took that on trade. I'd love to know what they paid for it, haha.

triple88a 01-01-2014 06:23 PM

Other than the shitty rims and the stickers it does look pretty clean. The interior looks fairly good. The subs seem to be pretty well done.

Supe 01-01-2014 10:17 PM

Props for the add-on cup holder held to the dash with wood screws on that Miata.

buffon01 01-02-2014 01:00 AM

I've seen worse. Yesterday heading to the beach I saw a slammed NA with a bench-like wing, two-tone (white/black) paint job withe flames, and a GIGANTIC hood scoop. I wish I had snapped a shot :/

Just inspired me to repaint my prelude so I can sell it for $10K more than it's worth.

I just got the timing belt done, replaced the cam, crank, balance shaft seals. Had to get a new auto tensioner cause it was seized and wouldn't retract, radiator broke during install so that was replaced, and clearanced the valves and two new tires. Got another 130K to go on it now--feels like a whole new car--doesn't misfire on cold starts anymore.

Yes, we waited until 130K to do the TB on an interference motor.

I forgot about this thread. I put this in the Random Pic thread, but it belongs here. This thing is down the street from me.
