Rollbar install help
Hard Dog, M1Hardcore, Hardtop, Doube Diag on a 95Miata
Got pretty much everything done, bar is installed, buttoned up and even went on a quick test drive....ssssssaaaaaawweeetnessss BUT: 1-need dummy proof instructions/diagram on how to get the top of my seatbelts setup right. Every which way I tried, they just kinda bind up and dont work too well. 2-would like to see some good pics, or again dummy proof instructions/diagram on how to cut the seatbelt tower trim I know posting pics would make me seem alot less of a tool, but I'm tired, car is outside, camera is dead, so hopefully tomm I'll get some up. Your expertise is as always appreciated |
Seatbelt will never roll up well, just how it is. For the trim, Im sure there is a printout somewhere, but I just started small and kept cutting outward till I got close to the right size. I didnt care too much how mine looked though, its behind the seat. Any cuts that arent pretty or a bit too much, you can put some trim (rubber hose split down the side, or that wire loom stuff) on the edges.

Can people please take some pics of how they cut their trim panels, please i beg you.

I have 2 holes in the tabs on the rollbar over the seatbelt tower.
The larger one is aligned with the hole in the seatbelt tower, and to my understanding I'm supposed to use that hole with the original hardware. BUT I cannot find an orientation where it will work at all The smaller hole is further inwards, and lines up with nothing. However, I was able to temp. rig the seatbelt to that hole using a bolt/nut I had. The location is much better, but of course its no where near OEM Lastly, I have 2 bolts that were thicker than the bolts used to mount the rollbar. Cant find any info on them |
I'm heading over to work on my car some today. I will take pictures of the panels and the seatbelt tabs. Maybe they will help out. Hell, I even cut my boot to clear the bars, but you're on your own on that one.

Here are some trim pictures. I snapped these this morning just for you.
Picasa Web Albums - John - Roll Bar Trim I started with the cutouts that Hard Dog provides. After that it was trim, fit, trim, fit... It took awhile to get the panels to fit well. Go slow, be patient, take a break if you get frustrated, blah blah... |

LOL, you people make me feel like shit. Mine look so horribly ghetto. Maybe I'll go snap some pics to show how rushed I did, and how NOT to do it.

Haha, I forgot about the driver side. It came out so badly I just said fuck it and cut it in half and threw the other part away. You can clearly tell I took my time and made sure everything was snug. Wonder if it would look better if I removed it all and masked off and painted everything down in there black.
Oops, saw slipped... Attachment 207600 Thats only a tiny gap... Attachment 207601 Thats not too bad... http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...1995/Ugly3.jpg Fuck it! Attachment 207602 You can see my interior panel trimming skills are top notch. |
