Default Sensor just above oil sender on NB identification

anyone know what the sensor just above my oil feed t is? It looks like a wire is attached but it also looks like it's leaking oil...? This is on a 99 1.8

knock sensor
likely that's not oil. likely that's the plastic/rubber from the sensor melting
very common. nothing to worry about

looks like a knock sensor. It's probably just the epoxy/plastic/rubber from the sensor melting. You have a knock sensor. amazing. I want a knock sensor. Nothing to worry about

Interesting. Coming from two previous NA builds I keep learning things about these NBs

Does MS2 have the ability to use the signal from this sensor by any chance? That would be a nice free bonus.

Thanks for easing my worries.

If you have the knock module on your MS, then you can wire this in and use it.

Knock Module is MS3 only. Any knock control on a MS1/2 is hacky at best and do not work overly well.
