Default Should I resurface or replace?

Pulled my transmission to see what clutch/flywheel combo was in the car. To my suprsise it looks like a ACT HD pressure plate and an Exedy organic disk. ACT street flywheel.

Their is a good amount of hot spots on the flywheel and pressure plate, would you guys resurface them and get a new disk? Or do just put it back together?

I am on the fence on getting a 6spd or bmw/getrag swap so just want to get some miles out of this if it's worth it.

Thoughts?

If you're replacing the clutch, get the flywheel resurfaced for sure. You dont want to bed in a fresh clutch with an uneven flywheel

I might just put it back together and stap the transmission, it felt ok with the m45 given I didn't get on it much.

I'm in a position waiting to see if my current contract is extended, if it is I will probably do a BMW/getrag swap. Would hate to buy a clutch now and then find out in 2 weeks that I'll be swapping it all out.

Bought SM clutch kit and it just arrived today, had the ACT flywheel resurfaced. Was curious as to what some of you guys think of the resurfacing.

The surface seems a little rough, flat, but a little rough. Last thing I want to do is install it and it eat up the new clutch.

Looks completely fine to me. If you were to check the flywheel again after 3000-5000 miles, it would not look like that anymore.

I would make sure the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces are squeaky clean, then they should be good to go. Non-clorinated brake cleaner (aka mostly acetone) or isopropyl alcohol and a non-linting clean rag will strip all residual oil/grease.
