Replaced mine today, works like a charm.
I'll take a picture for you later. Took a whole 4-5 minutes to swap them out. Hardest part is sitting in the seat sideways.

All you need is that spring and plastic sleeve that goes inside the coil of th e spring as shown. Unless of course you're missing something else shown in the picture.

Not a spring in sight.
But I have a 92 model, were they present on the earlier models?

No. This is for NB's with the Robbins top only. All the spring does is push that rod forward so that the window can fall flat.

I've got a Robbins top in a NA...might need them then.

You don't have to have them, it just makes it easier to drop the top ie. at a stoplight with one hand.

Ive got a glass window on my na that is separating at the rear corner. How would I install these springs on my top? I dont see that "stud" for the spring to sit over
