You could have sold the rear bumper and rear quarter panels.

Dude...

They actually paid you for that? I've had to have the junkyard come down for a fee before for a hulk like that...

least you got beer money out of it

Would have had to cut the quarters out. Too lazy.

Same for the rear bumper.

I thought about these things as I was getting it ready to go this morning but figured it wasn't worth continuing to tie up the space in the 'good' garage.

This evening I'll pull the rear subframe from the project car and possibly start installing the suspension bushings. Time to open my own build thread...

Yeah, I was tickled as hell that they were willing to pay me for the privilege of hauling it off. Was sure I'd have to pay to get rid of it. Which would've still been worthwhile after getting a Torsen, a full manual tranny swap for the currently automatic project car, a spare engine, and all the random parts I've hooked people up with.

$40 gets me 16 24oz cans of Jolt Ultra or Monster. :-)

Hell yeah.

So was this a 1.8 car then? If so, screw it, you made the right call--they still make those A/C lines and beer money is a good thing.
I'll be thrilled to death if I get $40 for my car on top of them taking it away. If I get off my ***, maybe I'll take the few remaining parts out (dash, p/s rack... that's about it at this point)

Yep. It was a 96 M-edition. It was in ridiculously nice shape apart from the front end being smashed to ****. Apparently the girl who owned it was the second owner; her parents owned it for a while and gave it to her.

I pulled the rack from this one so I could have a spare to try de-powering. The dash... I'm sure somebody wants one.
