Weird metallic sound coming from turbo. Any ideas what could be causing this?

 

Interesting...I almost sounds like the turbine impeller is contacting, though it doesn't look like there is any play. If you shut the car off, can you wiggle the impeller?

 

I can wiggle it just a tiny tiny bit. I contacted the manufacturer and they said it is okay if it moves the tiniest amount. I’m going to pull it today and take it apart

 

Just out of curiosity is the wastegate preload set correctly and is it possible the retaining clip is rattling? It sounds high pitched and almost like a vibration that occurs after the rpm drops as if it isn't dependent on the turbine speed or engine speed.
