Taking wagers
A customer's car, that I've been helping:
90 tub, including all electronics and management New 90 ignition system (coils, ignitor, wires, and plugs) 01 shortblock, 20k 99 head, decked 01 intake manifold Timing bump to 12* or so Aftermarket hi flow intake (big name, but I don't remember who) Racing Beat header Enthuza budget exhaust system "tuned" AFM via my LM-1 What kind of power to the tires? |

Why do I care? ;D |
Your reference to a "big name intake" tells me that you were expecting more than you got. :)

depends on the dyno.
Stock 01 on dynojet = 118-120 rwhp Stock 01 on dyno dynamics = 104-106 rwhp the 01 doesn't gain anything from the timing bump but with better gas and the other breathing mods you might realize it. lets see... I bet the 01 intake mani costs you compared to the 99 mani. the VTCS is a restriction even when it's open. not much though N/A. all told +18hp over the above numbers. 136-138 dynojet 122-124 DD. You will not get over 140 because I bet adding timing beyond that 12* will not increase power. i'd bet a full ECU is worth 10-15hp above 6 grand where the ecu goes richy rich. |

Based on zero experience, I'd say the only thing that makes a difference is the '99 head. Running the restrictive 1.6MAF cancels out the benefits of the exhaust, regardless of the CAI.
I'll make a rough guess and say it'll make exactly what a bone stock 99 makes plus a couple ponies for the effort: 122.65whp |
