You're definitely getting screwed on insurance. I'm paying like $80 a month for both cars (90 and 99 miata). I'm 24 with 1 accident and quite a few tickets.

<-------about 1600 a year with my car and my GF's 2001 Forester, liability. I'm 24 with three speeding tickets, she's got two and we live in the burbs of NYC. Where you live makes a big difference.

I pay $200/mo for my 2 red 94's with just liability. Have ZERO accidents but like 58 points, maybe 60 now. Oh and I'm 36.

Texas is HIGH for auto ins compared to neihboring states. Farm bureau is the cheapest by far. And have always gave me good service. If you have good credit and a bad record progressive is the cheapest. The will overlook some tickets if you have good credit. They know you will stay and pay.
Don't use Fred Loya INS. THEY NEVER PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone wanted close to $300 a/mth for a new Tarus, 90 chevy, 92 Miata.

I pay $90 for full coverage on the Tarus. And to add the extra chevy and miata with liability onto the tarus policy came to a total of $47.00 a/mth.

I only pay $137.00 a moth for all three.

Damn, you guys... I had to go look mine up. For 500k/500k BI and 50k PD, I'm paying $22 a month through Geico. 31 yo, single male, no recent history.

I don't know what else to do. I don't like rain-x, but if that is the only thing I'll do it. I have also heard of putting a small amount of dish soap on the inside. Anyone in a similar situation?
Here in the Netherlands it rains often..;

Run the middle **** off the control panel to take the air from outside.
The ventilater (full on)on the windshield only.
Heater on... (i know)

You must keep the same humidity inside and out to get clear view.
When you are wet the problem increases. (don't get too wet...)

Some of you may find this hard to believe, but on a regular basis, take a liquid cleaner wax, apply it like you would on the car, let it dry completely (this is important), and then remove it with a microfiber rag. Not only will you have very clean windows, coupled with the fans set on Windshield (even at the coolest setting, the air is almost already matched for outside ambient), they will not fog up as much. I have had great success with this in all of my non-a/c cars.

well i had a solution that i was gonna try to work on for soft tops.

but with the hardtop why don you get what other cars have? the wind/rain gaurds. they just stick on with 3m tape.

for the softtop i was gonna cut up my old top that is fucked anyway and try to create overhanging flaps

as for insurance, i pay ~700$ for just liability on the miata. 22male, 2points. gotta love nj with the 2nd highest rates in the US WOOT!...not

For visability: I always wax the windshield on my cars at the same time as I wax the rest of the car. It makes the water poor of so much better and the wipers run smoother over the surface.
