Default For those whomos who ordered chinachargers from Begi

I was just wondering if it took forever and a decade to get your turbo. I've had mine on order since the 16th of the month. I was supposedly going to have it in on Friday but I called and heard that they hadn't even received the turbo yet (whomever took the order was supposed to call and update on receipt, had to call for an update).

Basically just wondering if anyone's had similar experiences with BeGI. I'm starting to reconsider my purchase this far into the game

dont blame it so much on Begi, if you ever had experiences with a ebay vendor that doesnt have something in stock, they normally estimate 2 to 4 weeks for delivery, so assuming Begi is getting their chinachargers from china, or another company who gets them overseas, the delivery can be delayed for quite a while. so it may not be Begi's fault, or it could be, im just going off of ebay experiences and assumptions.

I have no experience with BEGi but from what I have seen on the forums this is typical. You will get your part, and at this point it will probably be faster to just wait it out. I think BEGi is a great company, just be prepared to wait a bit to get stuff.

I've bought a lot of stuff from them, some of it came extremely quickly, some not so much.

I've even had stuff in my garage for almost a year, sold it, and found a piece missing. They replaced it without question. They are super cool, IF you stay polite and ask nicely. Start kicking in doors and demanding stuff, and you'll meet a tough crowd.

I'd do what was posted above, wait patiently. If you need reassurance, call and ask if they have an updated ETA. If you go elsewhere you'll likely wait just as long, or longer by the time its said and done.

Go ahead an d wait. They are good people and will bend over backward to help you out. They found me a good quality WG for my china turbo that will fit right on. Sure it took a little while but the part wasn't in stock. They are probably at the mercy of their vendor

Oh dear lord what have I started. Also, Apparently they got the turbo in today, and the supplier sent the wrong one!

So they're 2daying the right one in and then 2daying to me so I get it on Friday. Hopefully I have enough time to get this weekend in on the new turbo.. heh

Man what to say. I got a hell of a first experience with these guys, not very impressed. I ordered it on the 16th of August, specified very precisely what I wanted and what I have. I was told it would take a week or two to get it, understandable. A week later I call for a general inquiry to get a timeline on when to expect it, and its the 27th.

Fast forward to the 30th of August, and I call to find out what the deal is. Supplier sent the wrong one, but will 2day out the right turbo and BEGi will modify it to suit. I was told I would expect it 2day and should get it on the 3rd. 3rd comes and goes, then it turns into the 4th and I get a UPS email stating I would get it ground and on the 9th. Yay!

I get the package, get home, open the box and it's drilled for 10mm studs (after stating repeatedly that I wanted 8mm as per the FM manifold) and has a baffle welded in on the turbo hotside to block the wastegate off from the normal exhaust flow. Okay, wtf.

So I waited over the weekend to cool my head, called today and mention these things and I get told they modify to what works, which means "Your stuffs wrong, use ours", to which I go huh. So anyway, I'm told I will be sent some sleeves to go over my 8mm studs so the turbo fits on my existing setup and I don't have to drill my 2560 if I want to switch back to that. As for my downpipe... I have to cut off my baffle so the turbo will fit on it, and then if I want to use the 2560 I don't know what to do about that..

Ah, good times. Should I bother sending the turbo back, or should I just figure out a way to get that baffle off, or should I weld one onto my 2560..?

My downpipe for reference.

I bought a complete kit from them. Being an hour down the road i just picked mine up. They are at the mercy of the vendors most of the time. It isn't as big of an operation as people on here make it out to be. However, they custom make everything, and don't just have random kits ready to push out the door. It takes time. They will always make stuff right though. If they say it will work, it will. That is the only place I would drop my car off and let them have at it. Lots of people cry about how long BEGI takes, but I do believe they offer a superior product. Now, let me look at this said baffle.

Edit? That little strip of metal hanging off that Vagtastic j pipe? Whats it for? Could you cry about something? I think that is the turbo's fault, not theirs.

My turbo is drilled for 10mm (3/8 actually cause I'm american) but my studs are 5/16. I don't use little bushings; thought about making something but laziness took hold.

If you have the FM piece I'd figure a way to remove the baffle from the BEGI chinese turbine.

Baffle between the exhaust outlet and the wastegate flapper.

I'm debating cutting it off the downpipe, if I do I have to wonder just how much of a problem it will cause to put that downpipe on the other turbo without the baffle. Does it really do anything substantial or is this just a negligible gain?

I mean the big thing you need to understand here is I did make it very known that I already had that on my downpipe, and made mention that I didn't want it added to the turbo, and it was. Now if I decide to have them remove it, I have to ship it back at my expense to get it cut off and it very well could not even fit with this downpipe anymore.

Not sure why it would cost you a dime to have them fix the mistakes that were made. If it were one of my products, you'd already have a packing slip in your email inbox.

Keep 2560 for now, wait for a lightly used bb 2871 and ditch the chinacharger idea...it's already been too much of a PITA

Though I will tell you, the 10mm hardware is much better than the 8mm stuff.

Negligible. Plenty of dyno results comparing bell mouth DPs to DWG DPs on Subarus and there isn't a big difference.

They should just send you out another turbine housing with the sleeves and a return slip.
