There are two latches on the top that attach to the windshield. Some plastic inside the latches seems to have broken off. Now the top does not seal and there is a wind noise. It might leak during the rain if we ever received any here in Phoenix. LOL I think the latches rattle some also.

What is the solution? Can the plastic pieces be replaced? Do I need whole new latches? Don't tell me I need a new top. LOL

I have a 2004 MazdaSpeed. The top is a replacement. Robbins I believe. (The original top was slit by a welcoming committee who took my luggage that wouldn't fit in the trunk while I was in Seattle on a tour of the city).

I would buy new latches. Try it and see if it solves anything. I think they might be a little pricey. Check around the for sale section. Some might pop up.

 

you turned the hex nuts inside the latches to tighten them up, correct?
