I don't get what the hell JDM miata motor is? Is there any difference at all

getsidewaysd1 11-21-2006 03:39 AM

No, not at all. The JDM 1.6 and the USDM 1.6 are the same. The reason people get them is 1) They can be had really cheap. 2) In Japan, they used the 1.6 in the 94's and up so your geting a newer motor. And 3) most of the JDM motors will only have around 35,000 miles on them. Oh and, there really cheap!

savior 11-29-2006 12:30 AM

yeah but isnt shipping like 02839283 dollars

Trent 11-29-2006 12:47 AM

so the jdm motor has the oil feed port on the header side also?

Beware of random importers though. I could swear that Osaka was one of the ones that scammed many many honda people out of motor swaps.

Buyer beware.

olderguy 11-29-2006 01:21 PM

Throw in a 1.8

Thats weird. I've never heard anything bad about Osaka. Then again, I really dont know any Honda people and anybody I talked to who order through them ordered SR's and 13B's.

If you live anywhere near Michigan, I have a used 1.6 with 35k miles on it. Too bad... car was just totalled and getting ready to part it out.

getsidewaysd1 11-30-2006 12:10 AM

Where do like in Michigan and how much?

Powdrkeg7 12-03-2006 10:34 PM

Yes, there is a ton of bad stuff. But 95% of that bad stuff was from 3+ years ago when Osaka first opened and most of them were about stupid stuff like cut wiring harness and they were all honda motors. The newer posts most of the people said there motors were great and really clean. I'm not saying your wrong, but I'm also not saying your right. From my own person experinces, its a decent company that sucked ass when they first opened. But once again, my expericences where non honda related.
