Default VIN number

Are the VIN number plates on the motor and trans supposed to match the the body VIN number.

I'm just making sure and knew I was asking a dumb *** question. I looking at my swap motor and trans and realized they didn't match. Looks like I have a newer motor and trans with a whole lot less miles.
